President & CEO

“What I have always wished for throughout my career is to make Japan’s economy and society better for the next generation. DE&I serves as the engine that encourages us to revisit traditional systems and rebuild them into new value-added structures. Let’s work together to realize the evolution and growth of your organizations and your business.”

After working at the Ministry of Transport (currently the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism), Boston Consulting Group, and Catalyst Japan, I moved to my current role in February 2018. Based on experience from management consulting, we provide DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) advisory services mainly to executive management for various types of organizations.
I also serve as the Japan’s Co-Representatives of G20 EMPOWER, and a member of the Advisory Board of the 30% Club Japan. Through these roles and experiences with various cases surrounding corporations, educational institutions and various organizations, I have gained knowledge and insight into global trends and cases surrounding DE&I challenges and women’s empowerment.

MBA from Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Tokyo.

Hobbies, Interests, and How I Spend My Free Time

Cats are my source of comfort. While much of my weekends are still devoted to my children’s needs, I wanted some time just for myself, so I recently started taking piano lessons again for the first time in 35 years.

My experiences of moving between Japan and abroad from an early age have shown me the critical importance of DE&I, as well as the difficulty of thriving in its absence. For Japan to advance, it is vital to cultivate an environment in which individuals are encouraged to express their views, engage in constructive discussions aimed at collective optimization, and pursue both personal and organizational growth. I am committed to creating organizations where everyone can thrive and maximize their capabilities.

With professional experience at Boston Consulting Group, Rémy Japan, Johnson & Johnson, and Catalyst Japan, I have been serving in my current role since February 2018. Leveraging expertise gained in management consulting and marketing, I deliver DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) consulting and advisory services to executive leadership and human resources professionals.

MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the University of Tokyo.

Hobbies, Interests, and How I Spend My Free Time

I manage stress through weekly power yoga. With a strong passion for food, I am continually exploring fine restaurants and high-quality ingredients, and I particularly enjoy dining out at excellent establishments on weekends with family and friends.

Working in multicultural teams, I discovered the value of diverse perspectives in driving new ideas and recognized the importance of organizational culture and leadership in helping women advance their careers while balancing work and life. These experiences inspired my dedication to building environments where diverse talent can thrive in DE&I.

Strength in designing and facilitating training programs grounded in positive psychology to empower women to build confidence and leverage their strengths to become effective leaders.

Prior to joining the firm in October 2021, positions held at Bloomberg L.P., Morgan Stanley, Regional Economy Vitalization Corporation of Japan (REVIC), and TPO Inc.

B.A. in Journalism from Sophia University.
